Ukraine boost budget for road repairs

The Ukraine is boosting its road repair budget for 2018. For 2017 the Ukraine set a budget of US$648 million for road repairs and maintenance work. However for 2018, a budget of $1.41 billion is being set. This increased budget is being enabled by the newly established Road Fund system, which places taxes on fuel, vehicle imports, goods vehicles and road concessions.     Ukraine’s Regional Road Service estimates that US$1.08 billion is required to rebuild roads in the Donetsk Region. The work will be carried out from 2016-2025. Construction activity will focus on building 100km of new roads and repairing 2,500km of existing roads to meet current standards.
