Preparations for Polish project – widening work

Widening work for Poland’s A2 highway will be carried out between the Lodz Polnoc Junction and Konotopa Junction. The 88km highway stretch will benefit from the addition of an extra lane in either direction. Between Polnoc and Pruszkow this will result in a third lane being added in either direction. Between Pruszkow and Konotopa meanwhile this will result in a fourth lane being added in either direction. The construction work will take until 2021 to complete and will cost around €139.22 million.     Completion of the Lagos to Ibadan highway upgrade in Nigeria will not occur until 2021. The improvement work was initially to have been delivered by 2017.   • Recycling machines have helped add new lanes to an Italian highway

    The use of recycling and stabilisation equipment has played a key role in adding new lanes to a congested Italian highway. Running from Bologna to Taranto, the A14 Autostrade has seen a major increase in traffic volumes for several years. Data shows that traffic has increased around 4% year on year with some 110,000 vehicles using the highway/day.     Work is underway on a major highway project in Victoria State, Australia. Geotechnical work and preliminary surveying is being carried out for the Monash Freeway Upgrade project. In all this project is worth some US$293.66 million (A$400 million). The geotechnical work includes testing of the road surface and stared on the stretch from Berwick-Dadenong North and will continue until late-February 2016.
