New expressways planned for China’s Guangxi Province

New expressway works are being planned for China’s Guangxi Province.

A massive programme of road construction is being planned in China’s Guangxi Province. The plans call for 30 new expressway links to be built.

Financing worth US$21.43 billion is being set in place to pay for the works, which will commence in 2021. In all the 30 expressways will total 2,109km in length and by the end of 2021, Gunangxi Province will have a total expressway network of 7,300km.

Construction work will commence on the first 10 of the expressway links totalling 551km between now and March 2021. In all, these 10 projects will cost over $5 billion.

    A total of US$2.42 billion is being invested in five high-speed road projects in China's Henan Province. The highways have a total length of 205km and construction work is already underway. Some $1.2 billion will be spent on the 108km road link between Dengfeng City and Weishi Expressway with a length of around 108km, while $377 million will be invested in a 37km road project connecting Wuxi Expressway and Yuntai Mountain.     China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region says it is spending US$49.76 billion (CNY 307.7 billion) on 24 new expressways in 2014. Once completed, the expressways will cover 3,467km. On 26 September 2014, construction started on a 177km Hechi-Baise expressway, while the 92km Hechi-Du'an expressway is already in use. The Hechi-Du'an expressway has a 100km/hour speed limit.
