Italian highway tenders underway

Tendering is underway for key Italian highways.

Tendering is opening in Italy for a number of the country’s key highway routes

Tendering is underway in Italy for the concessions for four important highway connections. These routes run between Tuscany and Liguria and the concessions are worth a total of €2.5 billion. The 12-year concession packages will be grouped together, with the tendering being managed by Italy’s Ministry of Transport (MIT).

    The German Government's new transport investment strategy will see increased spending until 2030. The Ministry for Transport says that the emphasis will be on renovating existing infrastructure, instead of building new projects. Around 70% of investment will be for renovation and improvement projects, compared to 56% in the previous transport strategy.
