India is carrying out a massive bridge project.

Construction works are now set to go ahead on a massive bridge project In India. The building work will be carried out by the contractor, L&T Construction. The project will be for the longest bridge in India, spanning the Brahmaputra River. The 19km bridge will link Dhubri in Assam State with Phulbari in Meghalaya State. This will provide a direct road link between the Dhubri and Phulbari, reducing journey times considerably. At present the distance between the two by road is 250km.
