Australia road contract awarded to South Korean firm
The 13km M4-M5 Link in Sydney, Australia is to be constructed by the South Korean contractor, Samsung C&T. The project is worth US$788.5 million. The new link will be constructed as an underpass and is due for completion in mid-2023.

Bidding is underway for a major highway project in Egypt, with the tender process attracting considerable international interest. The contract is worth some US$1 billion and is for the construction of the 35km Rod el-Farag highway. Construction work on the project is scheduled to commence in late 2011 and the highway will be built under the PPP model.
The Brazilian city of Sao Paulo suffers a heavily congested road network. Huge traffic jams up to 100km long are common and can be even 200km long in bad weather or at weekends and holidays.
