Washing equipment specialist, 8575 McCloskey Washing Systems (MWS), has now designed, delivered and commissioned over 10 wash plants in six months in the US and Canada.


The modular wash plant range, SandStorm 516 and 620, has been a particular success for the firm in North America with plants in Chicago and Deer Lake, Newfoundland, with three additional SandStorm 620 plants being assembled in Colorado and Texas.

The SandStorm modular plant is coupled with unrivalled quality in every aspect of design and build and can efficiently process feeds of up to 550tonnes/hour and deliver up to three grades of aggregates and two grades of classified sand.

The MWS Mobile wash plant, consisting of a tracked S190 or S130 Rinser feeding a single or twin sand screw, has been a popular plant with operations looking to get a clean stone product and dewater the sand in an easily managed way. A new McCloskey Scavenger plant was delivered recently to Kitchener, Ontario. The Scavenger is a highly productive, cost-efficient static wash plant that provides maximum performance in recovering sand losses from a screw washer and reducing sand tonnage to the ponds.

    Great Tew Ironstone Quarry in North Oxfordshire in the UK has purchased a new top-of-the-range Doosan DL580-5 wheeled loader to increase production. The DL580-5 carries huge 14-16tonne blocks of Ironstone from the quarry face to a new €1.2 million stone processing plant that recently began production at the top of the quarry.
