The FR series is top of the line for pulverisers

Trevi Benne, a demolition equipment specialist, has upgraded its FR series of rotating pulverisers and added the FR 75RD. A redesign has made them more aggressive in profile and there is now a centralised lubrication system.

The series is for primary and secondary demolition equipped and the models are equipped with the Impact Booster valve. It kicks in automatically when the material offers increasing resistance to demolition.

The unit is 3,255mm long, 80mm wide and has a jaw opening of 1,445mm. It weighs around 8,100kg and operates at around 140bar. Trevi Benne says there are considerable benefits with lower operating pressure and oil flow: fuel consumption is reduced by 20%, opening/closing takes four seconds, power performance is up by 25% and there is a lower environmental impact.

BHS-Sonthofen is demonstrating its rotor centrifugal crushers of the RSMX series for processing hard and medium-hard rock to produce aggregate chippings and high-quality aggregates. The company says the rock-on-rock principle and the patented rotor with just two centrifugal chambers offer advantages over multi-chamber rotors, and these include the maximum input grain sizes of up to about 80mm for hard rock and up to 150mm for soft rock; optimal material flow in the rotor, free from clogging; 15-20% greater

Atlas Copco’s new BP3050 bulk pulveriser was due to get its UK exhibition debut this month at Hillhead 2012. The Swedish construction industry giants claim that due to the machine’s innovative angled shape, the BP3050 is ideal for a wide array of demolition tasks. It features huge jaw dimensions that facilitate energy efficient high throughput, with speed valves shortening the opening and closing time of the jaws to ensure less fuel consumption during pulveriser operation.

New engine emission regulations pose major challenges for engine manufacturers - Geoff Ashcroft reports. The arrival of emissions regulations in January for engines over 130kW has meant that engine makers have adopted varied technologies to meet and exceed those goals. For the end user though, buying new kit that complies with Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emissions regulations is likely to carry additional costs.
