Kobelco’s new SK520LC-11 excavator offers increased performance

Increased performance is claimed for Kobelco’s SK520LC-11E excavator, which is now being offered in two variants.

The standard model is the SK520LC-11E model, however there is also the new SK520LC-11E Mass Excavation variant, for specific application needs. Both models weigh from 52.9-57.2tonnes, depending on specification and have power from a six-cylinder Isuzu diesel rated at 348kW that meets Tier 4 Final/Stage V emissions requirements.

Standard bucket capacities for the conventional version are from 1.4-3.4m3, while it is offered with a short 3m arm, a standard 3.45m arm and a long 4.04m arm. Meanwhile the mass excavation variant is offered with the 3.4m bucket as standard and a 2.6m arm, allowing it to be used for high production operations.

Hitachi Construction Machinery is this week unveiling two new models from its popular Zaxis range that are both said to be ideal for applications in confined work spaces. Hitachi says the ZX135US-6 sliding arm excavator is able to dig deeper than a 30 tonne standard model and has a significantly smaller footprint. The sliding arm extends the working range of the model to a maximum digging depth of 7,790mm. The upper arm features a built-in cylinder with a 2,000mm stroke. This makes the 78.5kW engine-powere

The unveiling of HAMM's innovative H20i soil compactor at the recent CONEXPOCON/ AGG exhibition in Las Vegas has been a significant development for this type of equipment. The machine is of note as it packs its emission compliant Deutz diesel under a closefitting cover in the rear chassis. In the 1990s, Ammann was a pioneer in the soil compactor segment when it developed machines featuring a sloping rear engine cover, as well as a larger cab with big glass panes. The range was designed this way so as to
