Work is underway on the new north Tarrant Express project in Texas
Work is now well underway on the new North Tarrant Express project in Texas. Clearance operations are being carried out to make way for the North Tarrant Express, a project that consists of a series of major improvements to the I-820 and SH 121/183 (Airport Freeway) highway corridor in northeast Tarrant County. The US$2 billion project is due to be completed in 2015. This project is intended to help reduce traffic congestion, improve safety and increase capacity in one of the country's fastest-growing regions. In addition to the design, right of way and utilities, the project will rebuild and expand 13 miles along I-820 and SH 121/183 from I-35W to the SH 121 split. This project will rebuild the existing four to six main lanes, add four toll-managed lanes, plus frontage roads and auxiliary lanes to double existing capacity. The project also includes two additional non-tolled main lanes which will also be added no later than 2030 at no additional cost. This PPP is using a combination of private funds with public funds to complete the 21km corridor in five years.

When it was completed in 1965 – just six years after the Auckland Harbour Bridge – the six-lane Newmarket Viaduct with its tall, slender piers was something of an engineering wonder, the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. Forty years on it had become a much-maligned contributor to Auckland’s chronic traffic congestion, too weak seismically to withstand the heaviest loaded trucks let alone a severe earthquake, so narrow in the shoulders that any accident stopped traffic flow and made it difficult

The skid steer loader has for many years been known as a jack-of-all-trades. Indeed the term loader can be a bit misleading, as a skid steer is far more than simply a digging or lifting machine. Skid steers, and their more recent compact tracked loader stablemates, are the original powered tool carriers. They are designed to work with a host of attachments, not just a bucket or pallet forks. However while this concept of one base machine and a multitude of attachments has been a big success in North America

At present Ethiopia has around 121,200km of roads, compared with around 100,000km of roads in 2015. But by 2020, the Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) aims to expand the network to 200,000km.
