First Tunisia, then Egypt and finally Libya saw tumultuous revolts against the previous autocratic (and in one case at least, despotic) rulers. All three nations are now benefiting from a return to stability, with economic growth also improving once more.
In Serbia some million is being spent on developing the Corridor 10 and 11 highways during 2012. The work being carried out by Serbian roads company Koridori Srbije will include the 22km Ipsilon arm on Corridor 10, which will run from Kelebija to Subotica.
Lebuhraya Borneo Utara of Malaysia has awarded a highway construction contract valued at US$422 million to a 30:70 consortium comprising Dhaya Maju Infrastructure and Hock Seng Lee (HSL).
Under the contract, the consortium is required to undertake related works for Phase I of the Pan Borneo Highway, according to a report by the New Straits Times newspaper.

Tolling rights for the next 50 years for the third road tunnel in Brisbane, Australia are being sought by the Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC). QIC's Queensland Motorways are reported to have entered into exclusive talks with the Brisbane City Council about tolling rights for the Legacy Way toll road tunnel in the western suburbs of Brisbane.
