Construction work now underway Mexico City-Puebla highway

Construction work is now commencing on the second level of the key Mexico City-Puebla highway. The project is costing some US$766.4 million, with funding being sourced jointly from federal and regional governments as well as a number of private investors. The highway is being built by a number of firms including OHL and Pinfra. The construction project is expected to require 24 months to complete.

Construction work is now commencing on the second level of the key Mexico City-Puebla highway. The project is costing some US$766.4 million, with funding being sourced jointly from federal and regional governments as well as a number of private investors.     Work is progressing on track for construction of the new highway linking Albania’s capital Tirana with the city of Elbasan. The Albanian Public Works Ministry expects the Tirana-Elbasan highway to be opened in the second quarter of 2013. Contractors Aktor and Copri are working on the project and most of the major engineering work has been completed. The project is being funded by backers including the Islamic Bank of Development and the OPEC Fund, as well as the Albanian Government.

    A total of US$1.01 billion (MXN 12.91bn) will be allocated from Mexico’s 2013 federal budget for 783 road work projects across 31 states. Chiapas will receive the largest amount at $73.64 million (MXN 940mn) for 64 projects-; followed by Guerrero’s $69.8 million (MXN 891mn) - and Hidalgo $63.92 million (MXN 816mn). The road work projects do not include any works planned for Mexico City.
