Venezuela bridge replacement project announced

Work to replace the Guanape Bridge in Venezuela is now commencing. The existing structure collapsed on the 24th January of this year, injuring eight people, but is too severely damaged to be rebuilt. The bridge was built in 2011 so its collapse has been the subject of some controversy. Building the new two lane structure will cost an estimated US$312 million and should be complete by the middle of 2017.

  • New highway project for Venezuela

    A Portuguese contractor is now commencing work on a new highway in Venezuela. The US$4.76 billion project is being handled by contractor Teixeira Duarte. The highway work is for a new link from la Guaira to capital Caracas. The Caracas–La Guaira highway connects capital Caracas, to the port city of La Guaira, capital of Vargas state, as well as Simón Bolívar International Airport.
