Turkey highway deal tender opening

The tender process will commence in early 2017 for a new highway project in Turkey. Work on the new highway is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2018 and should take around five years to build. The first tender will be for a 100km section of the route although the highway will be around 352km long in all once it is complete.

Meanwhile 10 of the contracts for the Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway (NMSCE) have now been awarded.     A US$174 million road project is now commencing in Puerto Rico. The work will be carried out on the route connecting the PR-30 and PR-18 and involves reworking the road so that it features two reversible lanes. The project is expected to take 24 months in all, with the work being split into five separate phases. Construction of the first section connecting PR-175 with Montehiedra is expected to cost nearly $40 million as this complex stretch will include building four bridges as well as other civils work.

    The Moroccan Government is increasing its investment in roads and highways by 21% from last year. The country intends to spend US$6.32 billion on improving the road network. A further $14.5 billion is expected from private sources and other funding bodies. Work on the El Jadida-Safi highway project will commence in 2012 and is expected to cost $497million. Work on the Tit Mellil-Berrechid highway section will cost $152.55 million. The authorities in Morocco are now assessing 13 bids submitted in the tender
