Taiwan bridge being planned

A major new bridge project is planned in Taiwan. The new Danjiang Bridge will cost some US$482.35 million to construct. The project should be complete and open to traffic by the end of 2020. The bridge will be some 12km long in all, with a 900m central section. Work on the project is to be carried out by local firm Sinotech Engineering Consultants in combination with its German partners. In all there were six bids for the project.

    A series of major road projects is now getting underway in Poland, while tenders for new projects are also opening. Estimates suggest that the construction of six new ring-roads in the Opolszczyzna region will cost some €356 million. These ring roads all form part of the 2014-2023 National Road Construction Programme. The first projects to be carried out will be for the ring-roads around Mysliny and Niemodlina.     Construction work on the fourth bridge spanning Chile’s Biobio Bridge is proceeding on schedule. The project site is located in Chile’s Gran Concepcion area. Construction could commence in 2016, with completion expected in 2018. Environmental studies have yet to be completed however. The work will be carried out as part of a concession package and the bridge is expected to cost some US$214 million to construct, carrying two lanes for vehicle traffic as well as claiming pedestrian and cycling connectivity.
