Indonesian projects due

A string of road and highway contracts are due to be put out to tender in Indonesia shortly.

A string of road and highway contracts are due to be put out to tender in Indonesia shortly. In all some 6,000km of National Road improvement works will be put out to tender in East Timor. A further 1,000km of tolled roads will be developed under the transport plan set out by the Indonesian Public Works Ministry for East Timor. Plans are also being made for new bridges along the routes of the roads. For the moment no details have emerged regarding the tenders for planned projects but these are expected in due course.

    Infrastructure in Indonesia looks set to benefit from a series of a key highway and bridge projects, now gathering momentum. The country’s State Enterprises Ministry has announced plans for new road building worth a colossal US$25.66 billion. Work on a key highway stretch will commence in September 2014. This highway will connect provinces across the island of Sumatra, with the project looking set to be handled by the state-run firm Hutama Karya. The Indonesian Government has granted Bengkulu $1.22 billion
