Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein province starts €2.1bn 328 road renovation

The German province of Schleswig-Holstein has started the full €2.1 billion renovation of the 328 provincial road. Schleswig-Holstein has a special funding pot worth €38.5 billion which will be used for renovating the roads for which the province is financially responsible. The money will be spent between now and 2017.

    Around US$388.39 million (HUF 87bn) will be spent on road repairs in Hungary during 2013, according to State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of National Development (NFM) Sara Hegmanne Nemes.     Poland’s Ministry of Infrastructure is requesting that the country’s Ministry of Regional Development transfer EU grants worth some €10.66 billion. These funds had been set for use in specific road building projects, but the Ministry of Infrastructure wants to use the funds for other road schemes, preventing the money from being wasted where certain road projects are delayed.     In Poland, the European Investment Bank has committed itself to maintaining its loan agreement for the A1 highway, despite recent problems over the project. The e1.1 billion loan that the EIB had agreed with Autostrada Poludnie for construction of a 180km section of the A1 highway from Strykow to Pyrzowice, will now be placed at the disposal of the Polish highway authorities.
