Ecuador roadworks to be funded by US$367mn Chinese loan
The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in Ecuador (MTOP) has announced that a Chinese loan of US$367 million will fund the restoration of the Catamayo-Gonzanama-Sozoranga-Macara and Celica-Cruzpamba-Y del Muerto roads.

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in Ecuador (MTOP) has announced that a Chinese loan of US$367 million will fund the restoration of the Catamayo-Gonzanama-Sozoranga-Macara and Celica-Cruzpamba-Y del Muerto roads.
The Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) is providing loans worth US$175 million to Brazil’s Espirito Santo Statew. These loans will help finance the planned series of road improvements in the state.
Uganda is requesting a loan worth some US$145 million from the World Bank. The loan has been recommended by the Ugandan Parliament. Provided by the World Bank's International Development Association (IDA), the funding will help pay for Uganda’s the road connectivity development project. This will focus on work in the country’s Albertine Region districts over a five-year period. The road connectivity development project will boost access to infrastructure and help develop the economy of the Albertine Region.
The Peruvian Government plans to push ahead with a series of transport infrastructure projects that have previously suffered delays. Recurrent issues over the size of many of the projects and the investment required have been amongst the factors causing the delays. Opening up funding routes for the projects could release investments worth up to US$6.75 billion in all.
