Plans are being drawn up in Colombia for a number of new tertiary roads in Valle del Cauca Department. A new highway will be built in Valle del Cauca department, while a new road will improve connections between Mulalo and Loboguerrero.
A new bypass project is being planned for Krasnodar in Russia. Building work for the Krasnodar’s North-West Bypass is expected to commence in 2018. The 57km bypass project includes building two overpasses and seven interchanges. Construction of this new bypass will join the M4 Don highway with the Yeyskoye Highway and the Krasnodar-Temryuk-Bely route. The project is costing US$430.6 million and forms part of a wider plan to improve connectivity around the Black Sea.
Interest is said to be strong for the Pacífico 1, Pacífico 2 and Pacífico 3 highway concession projects in Colombia. At present the country’s national infrastructure agency, ANI, has 56 expressions of interest for the three highway concessions in Antioquia Department. The projects feature a total estimated investment of US$2.16 billion.
Two new tunnel connections in Turkey will improve transport in key areas. The new Kemerhisar-Pozanti Highway features tunnels along its length and this key route will improve connections between the country’s capital Ankara and its commercial centre Istanbul as well as to the south-east of the country.

The radical proposals have been drawn up as council bosses look to find a long-term solution for the Thickthorn roundabout, near Norwich, reportedly described by one leading figure as “one of the most important roundabouts in the county [Norfolk]”.
