Meanwhile Chile’s Ministry of Public Works of Chile is delayed the deadline for the bidding process for the project to upgrade the 138km Camino de La Fruta road to 8th March 2018. The route will pass through six districts in the regions of Valparaiso and O'Higgins and the project is expected to cost $600 million.

And there is concern over plans for a new link joining Route 78 and Route 68. Just one bid was received for the 45 year concession, from Grupo Costanera.
