VIDEO - Canadian contractor demolishing overpass

Canadian contractor Delsan has carried out a successful demolition of an overpass in Quebec. The firm used a number of John Deere excavators equipped with breakers and cutters to break up the overpass in a controlled demolition job. The structure was located in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue and needed to be removed as it had been made redundant.

The HP 7000 and HP 5000 units from Indeco were used for excavation of a stretch of tunnel where blasting could not be used due to the proximity of live traffic. The Greppoli Tunnel is located between Grosseto and Siena in the section of road near Civitella Paganico on the SGC E 78.   • Montreal to expand bus rapid transit on Pie-IX Boulevard

    The Canadian province of Quebec tendered this month for expansion of the Pie-IX Boulevard bus rapid transit system between the cities of Laval and Montreal. The provincial government will contribute US$304 million out of which around $23 million will be for 28 new buses, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
