    Mecalac has reinforced its position in sustainable construction with the launch of a new electric excavator model.

    The new eMWR wheeled excavator is joined by another new electric model, the eS900tele telescopic loader.

    These latest models mean than Mecalac now has two excavators, two swing loaders, and a site dumper in its emissions-free electric portfolio.  

    The compact machines can handle all critical urban earthmoving tasks - digging, loading, and hauling - on a practical scale.

    New Holland is introducing new models of heavy-duty crawler excavators. The E385C and E485C are in the 35tonne and 48tonne category respectively. The Holland said that they have been built deal with the most demanding applications and harshest conditions. The latest models offer more power and fast cycles with new Tier 4 interim engines and new hydraulics. Fuel consumption is improved through the new hydraulics and new ECO working mode.
  • New firm to manage US$181.84mn New Zealand road project

    In New Zealand, Westland District Council has established Westland Properties to manage a US$181.84 million (NZD 220 million) road project between Milford Sound and Haast. The new South Island road is expected to cover 110km-138km and close to 80km will be located in Southland district. Travelling time between Haast and Milford Sound will be reduced by four to five hours once the new road is completed.
  • New stretch of A7 road in Spain opens – two further new sections imminent

    A new stretch of the A7 road in Spain has opened. Costing €190 million, the 6.1km stretch runs between Puntalon and Carchuna, and is said to offer an alternative to the “endless traffic jams” on the Torrenueva crossing. In early-summer 2014, another new A7 stretch called ‘Taramay-Lobres’ will open, while a third stretch of the A7 is set to open in December, linking the municipalities of Castell de Ferro and Castillo de Banos (Polopos).
