The new Maynard H Jackson Jr International Terminal at Hartsfield- Jackson Atlanta International Airport is now open for business. The 111,484m2 terminal features 12 gates, eight security checkpoints, separate levels for arrivals and departures, as well as a 148,831m2 concrete apron for aircraft to park on arrival. Archer Western won the contract to slipform the concrete apron, replace the existing Taxiway D, as well as other utilities and embankment work. The firm brought in one of its GOMACO paving trains

Weighing in at 20 tonnes, this machine benefits from a range of new technologies that boost productivity and finish quality. The firm says that the 140 AWD Next Generation Motor Grader combines two existing platforms into a common next generation platform for motor graders. The result is a machine that provides customers a wider array of operating features, technologies and configurations.
Leica Geosystems has launched v3.0 of its Leica PaveSmart 3D system, which is designed specifically for concrete and asphalt paving and milling applications. This upgraded package is now said to support a wider range of paving equipment and applications than before. PaveSmart 3D v3.0 will be available late March 2012 through Leica Geosystems’ direct sales and approved paving solution distribution channels, including GOMACO.
