Ammann unveils containerised QuickBatch mobile asphalt mixing plant

In response to customer demand, Ammann has developed a new QuickBatch 180 containerised mobile asphalt mixing plant that is easy to transport and quick to set up. It uses a simple “plug and play” electric system.
The new KMA 240(i) mobile cold mixing plant from Wirtgen is said to make in situ production of high-quality mixes an efficient process. In addition to being able to process bituminous bound mixes, the firm says that its upgraded plant also a cost-effective solution for the production of cement-stabilised mixes.

According to the firm, this is capable of producing mix containing up to 100% recycled materials. Ammann says that the quality of the mix is high, despite the use of RAP however. The key advance that allows the use of RAP in such a high percentage has been the development of a gentle heating process.
