The latest guidance notes come five years after NFDC published the world’s first ‘Guidance Notes on the Safe Use of High Reach Demolition Excavators’.
Hungary’s road safety is improving

A road safety success is the benefit of strategic action in Hungary by the authorities. Official data shows that Hungary has reduced its number of road deaths by 49% since 2001. This has been achieved through tougher enforcement and a crackdown on speeding through the use of speed cameras. With road 64 deaths/million inhabitants, Hungary has made major achievements in tackling road safety, and further gains are expected.

Sima, the Spanish light construction machinery firm, says European clients have begun receiving their orders within 92 hours, after the company signed an agreement with logistics provider Dachser to create a logistics centre in Nuremberg, Germany. Both machines are made for the 0.6m³ class, have all-wheel steering mechanisms to reduce material handling time, and are also fitted with a non-articulated chassis, said by Kramer to ensure high stability due to the constant centre of gravity. The authorities in Moscow intend to invest in new roads, repairs and maintenance in a bid to tackle the city’s road connections and pothole problems. The repairs and maintenance will be carried out in and around the city. Some 180km of roads and 50km of highways will be either constructed or rebuilt during 2012. Some US$650 million has been budgeted for the work, some 2.5 times the sum spent during last year. Around 64km of highways will be built and repaired by 2015.
