Chinese manufacturer Zoomlion will have a full range of CE-marked flat-topped tower cranes by the middle of next year. Following its buy-out of JOST’s flat top crane technology in 2011, Zoomlion is planning to market CE-marked range of 20 tower cranes. The first to market is the mid-sized T320-16, which was launched at INTERMAT. This will shortly be followed by a small-sized crane and then by the extra small crane at the end of the year, with the full range becoming available by June 2013

JCB has launched its first five-stage-boom Loadall telescopic handler. The 540-200 has a 20m working height and a maximum lift capacity of 4tonnes. Using the same driveline as the 540-170, the machine is powered by JCB’s 75kW Dieselmax engine. The Loadall has a four-speed powershift transmission and uses a single servo joystick to control all boom functions.

Zoomlion is set to grow its operations as Helen Huang, general manager for the firm’s construction hoist machinery branch explained. The firm intends capitalise on its purchase of the tower crane technology from German firm Jost. Huang said, “We have a two year licence with Jost. We purchased the whole set of topless tower crane technology. This is arranged as a two year technology transfer, although there may be the option to extend the period.”

Unic Cranes Europe has added a 10tonne lift machine to its line-up. The URW-1006 offers a 30.7m lift height and a 24.3m working radius. However, at just 2m wide, the machine remains capable of accessing restricted working areas. The spider platform has configurable outriggers to provide greater stability when lifting on uneven surfaces. The crane also uses a Wylie i4500 safe load indicator to provide lifting information to the operator on a colour LCD screen.

Terex Cranes introduced the Eazy 90 fully-hydraulic self-erecting tower crane at INTERMAT. Equipped with a maximum 45m jib, the crane has a telescopic main tower with up to three additional mast sections. Erection can be carried out by two people in 2-4 hours depending on specification. The crane is equipped with safety lock-outs to ensure that each stage of erection has been completed before progressing to the next. JLG Industries has taken the wraps off a four-model range of powershift-equipped telehandlers. The 3706PS and 3707PS have a lift capacity of 3.7tonnes with maximum reach of 6.1m and 7.3m respectively. The larger 4014PS and 4017PS models have a 4tonne lift capacity, with a maximum reach of 14 and 17.3m. All four are powered by a 75kW Stage IIIB-compliant Deutz engine, driving through a four-speed powershift transmission.

Atlas Maschinen GMBH has updated some of its truck loader models. The AK96.3 now boasts a maximum lift capacity of 4,700kg with a maximum outreach of 16.3m. The AK116.3 can lift up to 5,410kg and has a maximum reach of 16.38m. Both cranes are available with a range of attachments, including cable winch, personnel basket, Z-arm jib and additional outriggers.

The latest XG30090 skid steer loader from Xiamen XGMA Machinery (known as XGMA) is powered by a 50.8kW Yanmar 4TNV98 engine and has Bosch Rexroth hydraulics. The CE-marked machine has a rated load of 926kg, its 0.5m3 bucket has 24kN of breakout with 30° of rollback and a maximum dump height of 2375mm. Service access is simplified with a forward tilting cab.

Palfinger Platforms has replaced its TKA series access platform with the P300KS. Mounted on a 7.5 tonne truck chassis, the P300KS has a working height of 30m with a maximum outreach to the side or the back of 20.5m. The cage, which offers 540 degrees of rotation, has a maximum load of 350kg.

Haulotte has introduced the Compact C10DX and C12DX rough terrain scissors lifts. Powered by a Stage IIIB Kubota engine, the machines produce lower noise levels and use 5% less fuel than previous models. The C10DX offers a maximum working height of 10.15m, while the larger C12DX has a 12.15m working height.
