A woman in South Korea retains the world record for the most number of times required to pass a driving test. the woman finally passed her theory test at the 950th attempt in 2009. the UK record for most driving tests taken is currently held by a london woman, who took her driving test 48 times until she passed in 1987.

However other would-be drivers are attempting to take this record. A 26 year old in the UK has failed the British Theory test 90 times and a 39 year old, again in the UK, has failed the practical portion of the driving test 36 times.

    The joint proposal by 3F, the Danish trade union for the transport sector, and think-tank Kraka to replace vehicle registration fees with a GPS-based road user charging system is worth noting. According to 3F and Kraka, this would reduce congestion on Danish roads and generate savings worth €536 million (DKK 4 billion) for the nation’s finances.
