Increased HVT options from Dana Rexroth

Dana Rexroth has introduced a short-drop version of the R2 hydromechanical variable transmission (HVT) at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. Pre-production testing by equipment manufacturers is expected by the end of this year. The short-drop HVT R2 is designed for material handling equipment and forestry applications. It uses a modified transmission case that reduces input/output distances and cab support engine power outputs of 130-200kW.

Dana has added a short drop HVT to the line

2254 Dana Rexroth has introduced a short-drop version of the R2 hydromechanical variable transmission (HVT) at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. Pre-production testing by equipment manufacturers is expected by the end of this year. The short-drop HVT R2 is designed for material handling equipment and forestry applications. It uses a modified transmission case that reduces input/output distances and cab support engine power outputs of 130-200kW.

Dana Rexroth has also launched an enhanced version of the long-drop HVT R2 to support engine ratings up to 235kW.

“Since production of the long-drop HVT R2, the power split transmission programme has met industry demands for improved fuel economy, controllability and performance,” said Roland Friedl, head of sales.

“The new short-drop version will deliver these benefits to a wider range of material handling machines and expand this technology to other off-highway applications.”
