Doosan unveils 14tonne wheeled excavator at INTERMAT

Doosan unveiled a new Stage IIIB-compliant DX140W-3 wheeled excavator on the opening day of INTERMAT. The 14-16tonne machine’s 101kW DL06K 6-cylinder common rail diesel engine is fitted with exhaust gas recirculation and a diesel particulate filter to meet the emissions regulations. Productivity has been increased by an average of 5% while a new Lifting mode boosts lifting capacity by 15%. Hydraulic flow is 4% higher, increasing swing torque by an equal amount and bucket/arm forces by 7%.
Bell Equipment unveils its ‘evolutionary’ E-series ADT

South African articulated dump truck manufacturer Bell Equipment unveiled a new generation of ADTs at INTERMAT yesterday. Turkish construction machine manufacturer Cukurova Makina (CK) is keen to make a French connection at INTERMAT. “We do not have a dealer in France and are trying to enter the market here,” said Veli Karakus, the company’s area manager in Africa, Iran and France.

INTERMAT launch for Doosan DX180LC-3

The DX180LC-3 is the first of Doosan’s mid-range stage IIIB compliant excavators. Powered by a Doosan DL06 common rail six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, this 18tonne excavator uses a combination of EGR and DPF to meet emissions legislation. The new HM400-3 articulated dump truck (ADT) from Komatsu can carry a full 40 tonnes and features a host of new technology in the drivetrain and in the cab. Hyundai used INTERMAT to show its 22tonne hybrid excavator – the 220LC-9. Designed and developed in-house with electric components from the company’s electronics division, the Hybrid 220LC uses an electric motor for its slew functions, enabling a smaller engine to be fitted.“This combination means we can use a four-cylinder 98kW engine in the hybrid compared to a six-cylinder 118kW engine in the conventional R220LC-9,” explained Hyundai product engineer Joachim Van de Perre.
New Holland shows new E385C and E485C excavators at INTERMAT 2012

New Holland is introducing new models of heavy-duty crawler excavators. The E385C and E485C are in the 35tonne and 48tonne category respectively. The Holland said that they have been built deal with the most demanding applications and harshest conditions. Finnish company REMU is keen for its Big Float 800 floating excavator to be a splash hit following its launch this week at INTERMAT. The amphibious machine weighs in at 12,500kg and can be transported even with three-axel trucks. With a boom length of 7.7m and digging depth of 4.1m the Big Float 800, like REMU’s other Big Float models, is completely floating and can be brought to a job site by land using its tracks or towed or driven with propellers along waterways.
JCB is offering a new range of its JS crawler excavators

The new generation JS crawler excavators from JCB are said to deliver increased performance along with reduced running costs. Ammann’s ASC 110 and 150 ACE Pro single drum rollers will also be launched at INTERMAT. Powered by Cummins QSB 4.5 engines and with operating weights of 11,260kg and 15,210kg, the two new models offer intelligent compaction using continuous compaction control (CCC). INTERMAT launch for Volvo’s compact L45G and L50G loaders

Volvo’s two compact hydrostatic wheeled loaders, the nine and 10 tonne L45 and L50, have been upgraded to G-series specification. It means the compact loaders get a transversely-mounted, four-cylinder D4H engine that gives 74-86kW, and drives a twin-range hydrostatic transmission with 100% locking differentials on both axles.

With a bucket capacity of two cubic metres, the DL200-3 is another in the Doosan line that benefits from a stage IIIB emissions compliant engine. And with it, Doosan has taken the opportunity to freshen up the 12,200kg loader.
