Fayat launches COMPACT asphalt plant in series of world firsts at INTERMAT
January 6, 2017
Fayat’s new COMPACT asphalt mixing plant creates a continuous flow of multipurpose product, including cold, warm and hot mix. The new plant ensures optimum energy management when mixing aggregates while maintaining the ability to recycle materials according to typology. The feed is conventional into the dryer tube for virgin materials – and into the continuous mixer, or both, for recycled materials. Bitumen is introduced into the Retroflux or Recyclean dryer tube, or into the mixer, far away from the flame.
Ammann’s compaction technology delivers
January 6, 2017
ACE Pro – Ammann’s flagship system for monitoring and controlling compaction – is now available with GPS, allowing the operator to map the progress of compaction on-site. ACE Pro with GPS feeds absolute compaction data values back into the roller to automatically adjust amplitude and frequency to achieve the target compaction rate. It’s clever enough to stop compacting when the correct level is reached.
Astec show model of relocateable asphalt plant
January 6, 2017
Astec has brought along a detailed model of a complete relocateable asphalt plant to explain the key features. The plant incorporates double-barrel technology. A continuous process delivers virgin aggregates or 50% recycled material into the inner drum where it is dried. The aggregate then drops out to the outer drum, where bitumen is injected. Advantages include guaranteed mixing times and being able to heat the material within a single system.
Hamm rolls out new range
January 6, 2017
Hamm has launched the smallest combination roller in the HD CompactLine roller range, the HD10C VT1m. With a working width of just a metre and weighing 1.5tonnes, the new model is being launched with a permanent all-wheel drive as standard.
JCB is boosting range of asphalt rollers with compact models
January 6, 2017
JCB is broadening its range of asphalt compactors with the addition of the VMT380 and VMT430 models. These are said to offer high operator visibility, comfort, safety and performance in comparison with other models on the market, according to the firm. Tapered frames ensure good sightlines while both models are powered by 2.2litre Kohler diesels mounted in the front chassis section and rated at 34.6kW, with large fuel and water tanks that are said to be class leading.
