Italian company Ihimer has scooped a prestigious prize in the INTERMAT 2012 Innovation Awards. Its Carry 105 Electric Power eco mini dumper secured the firm, based near Siena, in Tuscany, the award for Sustainable Development. Ihimer will receive its accolade along with 11 other prize winners during a special ceremony organised by award organisers, the National Federation of Public Works of France (FNTP), to be held in Paris on during Intermat 2012 on 16 April.

JCB is introducing new hydraulic breakers to meet a range of customer needs. The larger HM870Q, HM1270Q and HM1570Q hydraulic breakers feature stainless steel components in critical areas as well as sealed for life accumulators, both of which boost operating life. Performance has been increased due to improved hydraulics, boosting efficiency and reducing noise while the breakers are said to have high power to weight ratios compared with rival units.

It might be compact, but the recently launched Kramer Allrad 650 wheel-loader does not shirk from weighty construction matters. One of two Kramer machines for the 0.6m³ class, the 650 has an all-wheel steering mechanism which reduces materials handling time. The 650’s non-articulated chassis is said by Kramer to ensure high stability due to the constant centre of gravity. It also has traction drive.

The Kramer Allrad 550 wheel-loader is said to be a machine that constructs above its weight. Despite the machine’s compact design, Kramer claims it offers operators the “full loader performance” of a “big machine”. One of two recently to market Kramer machines for the 0.6m³ class, the 550 is aimed mainly at customers in the construction industry, rental fleets and local authorities.

Caterpillar says its new Telehandlers - TH336C, TH337C, TH406C and TH407C - feature the company’s C4.4 ACERTTM engines that meet Stage IIIB emissions standard and are available in a 92.6kW (124 hp) or a 106kW (142hp) rating. The combination of innovative safety features in a new quick hitch device for hydraulic excavators has earned a silver award for Klac in the INTERMAT Innovation Awards 2012. The new Klac + quick hitch device comes in three models for machines of 8/9tonnes to 24/25tonnes. It has been designed to open up new markets for the company, which has specialised in quick coupling systems for 11 years but had previously focused on smaller machines.

Part of Hidromek’s crawler and wheel excavator range, the HMK200W wheeled excavator is designed with operator comfort, productivity, serviceability and safety in mind.
