The new XP2000 breaker from Promove is designed for 22 to 29tonnes carriers and its 145mm diameter tool delivers 5900 joules of energy at between 350-650 blows per minute. A flow rate of 160litres/min at 180bar is required and the breaker can work with a backpressure of up to 25bar.

Launched at INTERMAT in prototype form, the SV100-1 is now Yanmar’s largest excavator. Tipping the scales at 10.3tonnes, the reduced tailswing midi excavator gets a two-piece boom and additional counterweight. Powered by a 54.7kW 4TNV98T engine, the excavator offers a 4.48m dig depth, sits on 450mm wide rubber tracks, and measures 2.3m wide. A fourth auxiliary circuit is available as an option.

Stanley claims its GTR20 B01 power unit is at the cutting edge of construction site hydraulic power for tools. The generator, on sale in America but new to the European market, delivers a hydraulic flow of 40 or 2* 20L/min at pressures up to 2,000psi, with heat rejection capacity exceeding the EHTMAS recommendation of 5hp.

Terex has introduced the production version of its Twin Drive TC16 mini excavator. Equipped with both a 13kW diesel engine and an 11kW electric motor, the 1.9tonne machine can be used in confined spaces with zero exhaust emissions. A 15m cable reel is installed behind the cab, allowing the machine to travel under electric power.

Terex launched three compact excavators at INTERMAT – a micro TC10 and the reduced radius TC15 and TC19. All three have been developed in co-operation with an Italian manufacturer. The TC10, which weighs just 1 tonne, has a travel width of 760mm, allowing it to pass through a standard doorway. Hydraulically extending track frames offer a digging width of 990mm for maximum stability.

Selwood Pumps has had promising meetings at INTERMAT with potential new distributors who have visited its stand in the UK Pavilion. Exports through distributors account for 75% of the pumps that Selwood manufactures. The company is highlighting the S100, S150 and S200 Super Silent pumps, which have recently been improved by the introduction of a close-coupled configuration as part of an ongoing development programme across the entire range.

The ‘world’s smallest crusher bucket’, the MB-L160, made its debut at INTERMAT on the MB stand. Weighing just 1,350kg, the 0.3m3 capacity bucket has a throughput capacity of up to 22.5tonnes/hr and fits to machines between seven and 12tonnes, including backhoe loaders. Product size adjustment ranges from 15mm to 50mm.

Xcentric Ripper has launched the XR 80 Ripper, the largest excavator attachment in a range of eight models. The XR 80, which has a total weight of almost 10,000kg, has been introduced following successful testing carried out last month in Spain and France. It is designed to be mounted on excavators from 80tonnes to 120tonnes and used in larger quarries and on major construction sites.

Simex has introduced a visual indication on its planning attachments – the Performer – which enables operators to utilise all a carrier machine’s available power while avoiding stalling. The patented system automatically resets to reflect each machine’s maximum power and, according to the company, the device typically improves production rates by 25 to 30%.

MB Dustcontrol is launching at Intermat 2012 its new range of Dust Suppression SprayCannon units for demolition, recycling, quarrying and handling of bulk material applications. The range contains solutions to diminish the emissions of dust in both inside and outside work areas. The mechanism consists of binding dust particles with droplets of water (fog) sprayed from the SprayCannon. The water droplets weigh down the dust particles, which fall more quickly to the ground through gravity.

The lower angle of Caterpillar Work Tools’ new line of buckets for the E-series Hydraulic Excavators are said to concentrate the power of the machine across a smaller surface, offering less resistance to the material flow into and around the bucket resulting in a smoother and faster dig cycle. Now producing 10,000 backhoe loaders and crawler and wheeled excavators a year and looking to expand its product range later this year, Hidromek has also been adding new features to its existing machines including the HMK140LC crawler excavator. Featuring a re-designed cabin and new ‘Opera’ control system, the 140LC comes with a four-cylinder Mitsubishi engine, a 4.6m boom and a 0.6m³ cubic bucket capacity. The machine has an operating weight of 14,300kg.

A new development from JCB is an access platform attachment for use with the firm’s 535-140 and 535-128 model telehandlers. This has been developed to meet growing market demand for access platform attachments that can be used on telehandlers in a range of construction duties.

Mecalac’s AS900 tele - a rigid chassis all-wheel steer, compact loader - has been given an overhaul for 2012. The 7,250kg machine gets a new cab offering greater visibility, more internal space and quieter in-cab noise levels. A centrally positioned seat affords a clear view of the working environment, with controls integrated into a single joystick. It might be compact, but the recently launched Kramer Allrad 650 wheel-loader does not shirk from weighty construction matters. One of two Kramer machines for the 0.6m³ class, the 650 has an all-wheel steering mechanism which reduces materials handling time. The 650’s non-articulated chassis is said by Kramer to ensure high stability due to the constant centre of gravity. It also has traction drive.
