Changes in the latest models include improved noise levels and compatibility with a larger range of excavators. Attachments specialist Labounty has introduced two new cutter crushers, said to be the most powerful in their class. The MDP 20R can be mounted to the dipper of a 25tonne machine or to the boom of an 18tonne carrier. The heavier MDP 30R matches the dipper of a 35 tonne excavator or the boom of a 25tonne.

Ihimer, the joint venture between Japanese company IHI and Italian firm Imer, has added two skid steer loaders to its growing range of compact equipment. The AS30 and AS34 have operating weights of 3,150kg and 3,500kg respectively, with rated working loads of 850kg and 1,020kg. Yanmar Construction Equipment chose INTERMAT to reveal its latest tracked dumper development – the prototype C30R-2R – complete with swivel skip body. The 2,500kg skip can be slewed through 180 degrees, allowing material to be discharged anywhere around the front of the machine. In addition, the C30R-2R also uses a reverse drive console. With dual controls, the reverse drive platform allows the operator to spin the seat through180 degrees to remain facing forward when driving the machine in either direction

Additions to Cat’s mini excavator range at INTERMAT include the 301.7D and 302.4D. Wacker Neuson has renewed its 1.7 to 2.4tonnes mini excavator range with the introduction of the ET18, ET20 and ET24. The enlarged can has a lower and broader entrance for easier access and egress. The company’s Vertical Digging System (VDS) is an option, allowing the upperstructure to be set vertical when working on gradients up to 27%.

Auger Torque has introduced a torque measuring device which fits between its auger drivers and the dipper end and measures the torque applied to screw anchors. A Bluetooth readout shows the torque applied enabling contractors top confirm they have achieved the minimum depth and torque requirements set by the civil engineer.
