With working heights ranging from 14metres to 23metres, the five JLG Compact Crawler Booms feature a tracked wheel carriage and a narrow chassis for access through gates, yards, standard doorways and public buildings. The compact crawler booms are said to be low weight units drawing on an environmentally friendly combination of electric and combustion power for efficient energy use.

Liebherr will be showcasing at INTERMAT 2012 its auxiliary power unit (APU) powering the air conditioning on its LR series lift cranes. The Switzerland-based firm says the APU allows the crane operator to turn off the engine and still stay cool – saving its owner money on fuel, service costs and residual value.

Attachments specialist Labounty has introduced two new cutter crushers, said to be the most powerful in their class. The MDP 20R can be mounted to the dipper of a 25tonne machine or to the boom of an 18tonne carrier. The heavier MDP 30R matches the dipper of a 35 tonne excavator or the boom of a 25tonne.

To address the needs of the off-road market, Scania has added bigger non-slip steps, an additional step for windscreen cleaning and light guards to its off-road range of tractive units and multi wheelers. As an option the chassis can be supplied with factory-fitted PTO hydraulics and tank to power tipper rams or similar.

Ihimer, the joint venture between Japanese company IHI and Italian firm Imer, has added two skid steer loaders to its growing range of compact equipment. The AS30 and AS34 have operating weights of 3,150kg and 3,500kg respectively, with rated working loads of 850kg and 1,020kg. Haulotte Group will be showing its full range of telehandlers including the new generation of its 10tonne and 12tonne rough-terrain scissor lifts, which will be launched at INTERMAT.

Shantui has continued to expand its European CE-marked equipment line with the introduction of the SF30 fork lift. With a 3tonne lift capacity, the SF30 has an operating weight of 4.5tonnes. Power is provided by a 37kW Isuzu engine. The company offers fork lifts with capacities of 2-3tonnes on single front wheels and 5-10tonnes with twin front wheels. The SF30 is the first model in the line to use a European-specification engine, though additional machines will be added later in the year.
