JCB is adding to its waste handling range with the launch of the JS20MH materials handler and the 4CXWM wastemaster backhoe loader. Manitou is updating its MRT rotating upperstructure telescopic handler range, with Stage IIIB engines, attachment recognition systems, automatic stability settings and adaptive load charts. Split into more basic Easy models, and the higher specification Privilege line, the MRT machines use a mix of Perkins and Mercedes-Benz engines. French excavator and loader manufacturer Mecalac will launch its MCR6 compact excavator at Bauma. The machine, seen in prototype form at last year’s Intermat show, has a travel speed of up to 10km/h and can be used as both a skid steer loader and an excavator. Built at a new site in Turkey, the MCR6 weighs in at 6 tonnes and is powered by a 55kW (75hp) engine. In excavator mode the machine has a maximum tearout force of 2,400daN and a breakout force of 3,900daN.

Ammann’s new AVA 250 machine is its first add-on compactor specifically designed for mini-excavators. Described by the Swiss firm as an efficient add-on compactor for use on mini-excavators weighing at least 2tonnes, the AVA 250 can also be used on backhoe loaders. A built-in twin-shaft exciter is said by Ammann to give the AVA 250 maximum directed compaction energy.
