Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province.
The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.
Vietnam’s government has secured an ODA (Overseas Development Agency) financial support package worth US$844.95 million (JPY 86.4 billion) for four infrastructure projects in the country. A total of $179.75 million (JPY 18.4 billion) of the package will go to Ho Chi Minh City-Dau Giay Highway that is scheduled for completion in July 2016, while another $165.1 million (JPY 16.9 billion) is allocated for Tan Vu-Lach Huyen Road, set to open in early 2017.
Two new bridges are planned for Vietnam, with the work expected to cost a total of US$446 million. These bridge links will be built by local firm Trung Nam Construction Investment and will be designed to improve road traffic flow in Nha Be district, while also forming part of a wider flood control scheme. One of the bridges will be built at Cay Kho floodgate while the other is planned to be built at Muong Chuoi floodgate.
