Work begins on Vietnam’s Long Van-Long My road project
Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province. The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.

Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province.
The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.
Italian contractor Astaldi has begun drilling two parallel tunnels as part of its S7 dual carriageway project in Poland.
Each tunnel, between Naprawa and Skomielna Biala and under the Lubon Maly massif, will each be just over 2km long.
Astaldi, based in Rome, won the three-year S7 dual carriageway project worth around €225 million in 2016
Work includes 38 bridges and viaducts and three motorway services. There will also be 25km of access roads and two junctions.
The north-south S7, when complete
Two large highway projects in India are now moving forward following the award of contracts by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The NHAI awarded a contract worth US$269.62 million to Hindustan Construction Co (HCC) for the construction of a highway in the local state of Jammu and Kashmir. The project is part of the second stage of the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) initiative by the NHAI for the NH 1A highway, and covers 36km including 3km of tunnels between Banihal and Ramban.
