Vietnam’s road crashes drop

Vietnam has seen a drop in the number of reported road crashes. The National Traffic Safety Committee of Vietnam reported that 7,185 people were killed by crashes between the 16th December 2014 and the 15th October 2015. There were 18,437 crashes during this period, a drop of 3.9% for the same period in the previous year. The data shows that 16,755 people were injured in crashes during the 10-month period.     The news that a key highway bridge has collapsed in the US comes as gloomy reading for all in the highway sector. When a section of the Interstate 5 Bridge over the Skagit River in Washington failed in May 2013, a number of vehicles were plunged into the river.
