US $1.2bn Zhoukou-Zhengzhou, China highway construction begins

Key highway projects in Sri Lanka are now moving forward. Chinese investment will finance a new tolled highway in Sri Lanka. The project for the US$1.5 billion tolled highway is being handled jointly by China Merchants Hua Jian Highway Investment Company and China Merchants Holdings (International) Company. CITIC Construction is now using no less than five Lintec CSM4000 asphalt mixing plants for road construction works in Kazakhstan. The Chinese contractor said that these units were selected as they met its needs. The containerised design of the Lintec CSM4000 asphalt plant allows ease of transport, fast installation and also ensures protection for core components.
In Peru the Brazilian contractor Odebrecht is now setting out plans for a US$500 million package of works to upgrade the prime road network around capital Lima. In all some 144km of roads will be improved under the terms of the deal, which Odebrtecht was recently awarded by the Peruvian authorities.
