Road repairs will revamp the ring road around St Petersburg

Repair work is now planned on the first section of the St Petersburg ring road. The work will be carried out from Gorskaya to Primorskoe in 2013. Design work is underway at present. The 24km road will be widened to six lanes and the road structure will be revamped. The repair will end in 2015 and will cost some US$373 million. Work on the interchange in Bronka will commence in 2013 as well.

    The tender process is opening for new road connections in Poland. Ring roads are planned around the Polish city of Radom as well as the town of Gora Kalwarii while there are plans for a new dual carriageway section of the S8 between Radziejowice and Paszko.     Ethiopia is setting a target of 2020 to complete its road expansion programme. The plan has been to double the length of the country’s road network in the period from 2015 to 2020. At present Ethiopia has around 121,200km of roads, compared with around 100,000km of roads in 2015. But by 2020, the Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) aims to expand the network to 200,000km.
