A Chinese contractor is to build a major expressway link in Nigeria. The contract is for a 15km section of highway. The work will be handled by 890 China Railway Construction.

Work on the expressway connecting Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport to Lanzhou city centre is now underway. An important role in the resurfacing work is being played by the use of materials supplied by Shell Bitumen. Two Italian contractors will handle a bridge project in Botswana. The US$93 million project will be carried out by a joint venture comprising the construction firm Cimolai and Itinera.
