A Chinese contractor is to build a major expressway link in Nigeria. The contract is for a 15km section of highway. The work will be handled by 890 China Railway Construction.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Wen Jiabao, Premier of the People’s Republic of China, recently visited the Herrenknecht plant in Guangzhou as part of her trip to China. The delegation included, among others, 20 high-level representatives of German industry, and Dr Martin Herrenknecht, chairman of Herrenknecht, presented the company to Chancellor Merkel and Premier Wen, and talked about important Chinese and international reference projects.
Bangladesh's government has contracted an undisclosed Chinese firm to construct the main part of its flagship Padma bridge project – the country’s biggest infrastructure works. Building the bridge's key component is expected to cost around US$2.58 billion (BDT 200 billion), including expenses for river training.
