Mozambique’s road network is to receive international funding for various projects. The 304km road connecting Cuamba and Lichinga in Niassa province will be improved under the plan.
A major road project is being carried out in Cambodia to improve the transport link between the capital Phnom Penh and the port of Sihanoukville in Preah Sihanouk Province. Work on the 190km road project will cost in the region of US$1.9 billion and should take four years to complete. The road will be built as an expressway and will run alongside the existing National Road 4, which is also to benefit from $110 million of improvements. New highway investment plans have been made for Russia’s Kurgan and Krasnodar regions. Some 240km of roads and 13 bridges are planned to be constructed in the Kurgan Region (Urals) by 2021. Overall the investment in transport links is estimated at close to US$489 million for the region.
