Montabert extends low-cost breaker offering

RSSBreaker specialist 2396 Montabert has increased its budget offering with a new two-speed unit and additions to its Blue Line.

By restricting the speed choice to two, the new V3500 breaker (suitable for carriers from 35 to 60tonnes) is around 20% cheaper than its full-spec multi-speed counterpart while still allowing the machine operator the choice between maximum speed and maximum impact power.

The company’s Blue Line, described as a simple breaker design, has been extended at the light end of the range by the addition of the XL1000 and XL1300, which suit 11 to 17tonne and 15 to 22 tonne carriers respectively.

They use 107mm and 124mm tools to deliver 2000 and 2700Joules of blow energy and Montabert said the new units retain its build quality but are around half the cost of the full spec breaker.

According to Sailer this is still a little down on the figures of top years of 2007-2008, when the European industry reached a record turnover of €31 billion.
