A major new toll link will boost Indonesia’s transport connections
Construction work on the 13.6km Gempol Pandaan toll road in East Java is commencing. The US$174.5 million project will take 18 months to complete and is expected to open for traffic in the third quarter of 2013.

Construction work on the 13.6km Gempol Pandaan toll road in East Java is commencing. The US$174.5 million project will take 18 months to complete and is expected to open for traffic in the third quarter of 2013.
Work is now underway on a 136km highway that will present many challenges to its builders. The highway is being constructed in Guangxi Province and will connect Guangyang with Pingle, with the project forming part of the Guangxi 13th Five-Year Plan. Because of the terrain, the route will feature 18 tunnel stretches as well as 58 bridges, boosting its cost to an estimated US$2.02 billion. The project is being carried out by Zhongda Construction under the PPP model and will take three years to complete
The Israel National Roads Company has published the tender documents for the upgrading of road No 4 between Ashdod port and the Greater Tel Aviv region. The project involved widening the road by adding a third lane in both directions between Ashdod and Rishon LeZion.
Malaysia is set to get six new toll roads worth a combined US$6.24 billion (MYR 20 billion) within the next 18 months.
Further planned projects include the extension of Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (Duke) worth $269.69 million (MYR 1.18bn), West Coast Expressway (WCE) worth $1.14 billion (MYR 5.04bn), Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidek) worth $571.39 million (MYR 2.5bn), East Klang Valley Expressway, Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang elevated expressway (Suke) worth $955.36 million (MYR 4.18bn) and Damansara-Shah Ala
