Construction work on the 13.6km Gempol Pandaan toll road in East Java is commencing. The US$174.5 million project will take 18 months to complete and is expected to open for traffic in the third quarter of 2013.
Federal funds will help finance transport infrastructure upgrades in the Australian states of Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. Phase II of the project for Integrated Development of the Milange – Mocuba Corridor is now commencing and plans are in hand for work to upgrade trunk road N 11. Hyder and Parsons Brinckerhoff have been appointed as the design team for the US$5.97 billion East West Link in Melbourne, Australia.
The two engineering and management consultancies are in a 50/50 joint venture to provide detailed design and construction support services for the 6.6km Stage 1 work, which is the eastern section, of the project.
