Construction work on the 13.6km Gempol Pandaan toll road in East Java is commencing. The US$174.5 million project will take 18 months to complete and is expected to open for traffic in the third quarter of 2013.
Major rebuilding work has been carried out at Minangkabau International Airport (PDG), while the New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA) has been built in Indonesia.

Commuters in the US state of Virginia will be pleased that the new Midtown Tunnel is now open to traffic, as it will help to boost capacity and cut congestion on the busy US 58 route connecting Norfolk and Portsmouth. The 1.13km tunnel link has been built to link with the interchange at Brambleton Avenue and Hampton Boulevard in Norfolk

One of the biggest bridge widening projects in the world is being carried out under an ambitious development programme.
At US$1.2 billion, the seven-year scheme to widen the Huey P. Long Bridge in the US state of Louisiana is also the largest of 16 projects planned under the state's TIMED (Transportation Infrastructure Model for Economic Development)
Construction work on the important Loko-Oweto Bridge project in Nigeria should be complete in May 2019. The project has cost around US$141 million, with contractor Reynolds Construction Company having started work on the 1.8km structure in 2011. Spanning the River Benue, the bridge forms part of the 108km road link connecting Otukpo with Oweto and improves transport connections between Benue State and Nasarawa State. Work on a stretch of the road has been carried CGC Nigeria Limited.
