Maintenance works package for St Petersburg ring road awarded

The contract for maintenance of the St Petersburg Ring Road has been awarded to PO RosDorStroy. The deal is worth some US$183 million and will run until mid-2018 and the ring road (KAD) has been maintained by PO RosDorStroy since construction commenced. The deal was awarded by the Directorate of St Petersburg Transport Bypass Construction (DSTO).

    Work is starting on Poland’s S7 expressway. Italian firm Salini Impregilo is leading a consortium to construct a 21.5km stretch of the S7 expressway. The section lies between the Jedrzejow and Checiny junctions. The deal is worth nearly €144.67 million. The completion deadline is set for the third quarter of 2017.   • New Izhevsk Bridge project in Russia

    A new bridge project is planned for Izhevsk in Russia. The bridge will span the Kama River and is expected to cost US$438 million to construct. The contractor VTB is one of the firms that will be involved in the construction of the crossing. In addition VTB is also looking to build a bridge spanning the Lena River as well as a section of the high speed highway that will link Russia’s major conurbations of Moscow and St Petersburg.     The Indian Government has set out plans to award highway projects worth at least US$8.84 billion during the next fiscal year. These projects will be offered under the hybrid annuity model, according to a report in the Economic Times. KPMG has stated that some 21 projects for a total of 1,500km and worth close to a third of that sum will be granted by the Indian Government in the current fiscal year.
