Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin said authorities would allocate US$263.14million to repair the city’s road network in 2012, compared to a total of $197.66million spent over the previous five years.
A US$250 million loan has been agreed for a huge motorway upgrade scheme in southern Brazil. The loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) means a total of $319.47 million (BRL 650mn) is now available for the Pacto por Santa Catarina programme. The Mexican state of Guanajuato is to invest US$287.74 million (MXN 3.7 billion) in roads infrastructure projects.
Announcing the investment, Guanajuato state governor Miguel Marquez Marquez said the funds would cover over 300 construction, refurbishment, connectivity and modernisation projects.
