A new range of reflectorless total stations has been developed by 342 Topcon. Called the ES series, the new models also feature TSshield – a Topcon Group innovation using a multi-function telematics-based communication module that locates the instrument. The ES package also gets the longest single-charge battery life in the industry – 36 hours – making it possible to work five full days without recharging.
Hydra shearer drums, now part of the ESCO family of mining products, have been engineered with radial-style picks and tool holders that are recessed into the vane to deliver optimum cutting performance. The result is reduced wear on the drum, increased product size and lower power consumption. The range of shearer drums can also be equipped with conical style picks.
The ContiTech Conveyor Belt Group’s “innovative and environmentally friendly” conveyor belt solutions include the new MegaPipes. With an external diameter of up to 900mm, ContiTech claims the product doubles the capacities compared to conventional closed-trough belts and enables the transport of crushed ore downstream of the primary crusher or of bulky goods in the industrial sector applications.
Urban artists Mr Shiz and Foundry are spray-painting two 7m by 5m canvasses during the show to help IPAF highlight the safe and effective use of powered access equipment. Both have been trained and licensed to operate the equipment safely and visitors can see them at work in the IPAF Safety Zone, which also features information and guidance for managers and operators.
